Allan Johnston felt that neither side deserved to win the match claiming that is was fairly even.

"Probably Queen of the South were the better team in the first half, and thought we were better second half without either team having much quality.

"It seemed that the ball was bouncing here there and everywhere. Neither team could keep the ball down.

"Last week we had a lot of changes but we want to come down to places like Queen of the South and win so we are disappointed not to get a result but we know that it is a hard place to come. It is an important point but we were looking for more."

Towards the end of the match it looked as though both sides became intent on not losing, the manager commented:-

"You couldn`t say that either team were not trying. It was just a lack of quality in the final third. I thought we were a bit better second half when Ryan Williamson put in some great crosses that we were unlucky not to score from.

"Our best players today were probably our centre halves. I thought they won everything and dealt with a lot of high balls and bouncing balls which are always difficult to defend. I thought especially Callum Morris was outstanding."

After completing the first nine fixtures of the season Dunfermline have collected seventeen points and sit third in the league, four behind leaders St Mirren. AJ commented:-

"There is a gap but not much of a gap, it is catchable and a lot better than last season. We are going the right way and we want to still be in touch with the top teams. We are still there and it is important now that we kick on in the second quarter.

"We know it is going to be difficult because we will play a lot of the top teams away from home. There are no easy games in this league but we are looking forward to the remaining fixtures."

Next up will be Livingston at East End Park and with their win over Dundee United that means that they are now in second position one point ahead of both the Pars and United. The manager warned that Livi will be hard opponents:-

"They are flying. We saw at the start of the season how difficult a team the are to play against. They are hard to break down and have a lot of quality going forward. They have probably been the surprise team of the division.

"We will have to be at our best to break them down but hopefully on our pitch, it is a little bit bigger and there is a bit more room to play so hopefully we can make that count."
